The Detroit Riverwalk

Explore the Detroit Riverwalk

One of the Best Riverwalks in America—Right Outside Our Door

The Detroit Riverwalk is one of the city’s most celebrated destinations and has been voted the Best Riverwalk in the United States. Stretching nearly five miles along the Detroit River, it connects beautiful parks, greenways, public spaces and some of Detroit’s most exciting neighborhoods and attractions.

Even better, Riverfront Condominiums residents can enjoy it without getting into a car.

Direct Access from Riverfront Condominiums

In October 2025, a new section of the Detroit Riverwalk and the boardwalk directly in front of Riverfront Towers officially opened to the public. This major improvement gave Riverfront Condominium residents convenient, direct access to the Riverwalk from the community.

Residents can now step outside and enjoy miles of waterfront views, trails, parks and activities—all just moments from Tower 300.

Where Can the Riverwalk Take You?

The Detroit Riverwalk currently stretches from Gabriel Richard Park on the east side to Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park west of downtown.

Along the way, residents can explore or connect to:

  • Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park
  • Downtown Detroit
  • Hart Plaza
  • Cullen Plaza
  • Milliken State Park and Harbor
  • Valade Park
  • Gabriel Richard Park
  • The Dequindre Cut, which connects the Riverfront to Eastern Market
  • The Southwest Greenway, which provides a connection toward Corktown and Michigan Central
  • Nearby restaurants, entertainment venues, parks and public attractions

Whether you are taking a quick morning walk, heading out for a bike ride or spending an entire afternoon exploring Detroit, the Riverwalk provides a beautiful and convenient way to experience the city.

Things to Do Along the Riverwalk

The Riverwalk offers something for nearly everyone, including:

  • Walking, jogging and bicycling
  • Waterfront seating and scenic overlooks
  • Fishing access
  • Playgrounds and family-friendly recreation
  • Public art, gardens and green spaces
  • Seasonal food and beverage options
  • Outdoor fitness classes and group walks
  • Live music, festivals and community events
  • Bike and scooter access
  • Connections to nearby parks and downtown attraction

Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park also offers a large play garden, water features, sports areas, walking paths, gardens and gathering spaces—all within an easy walk of Riverfront Condominiums.

Bikes & Scooters

MoGo bicycles and rental scooters may be available at locations throughout Downtown Detroit. Availability, pricing, permitted riding areas and parking requirements are established by the individual providers and are subject to change.

An Extension of Our Neighborhood

For Riverfront Condominium residents, the Detroit Riverwalk is more than a nearby attraction—it is an extension of our neighborhood, providing direct access to outdoor recreation, public spaces and destinations throughout Detroit’s waterfront.
